Wu Chun raises $50,000 for charity

Action speaks more than words for Wu Chun.

The dashing hunk was unable to return to Brunei - his hometown, for his late mother's death anniversary, but that did not stop him from showing his filial side.

At a charity event held in Shanghai earlier, Wu Chun singlehandedly raised RMB 125,931 (SGD 20,000), through the auction of his personal items like bags and clothes, for the victims of disasters in China.

Seeing the overwhelming responses from fans, Wu decided to dig into his own pockets, making the total amount of funds raised to a whopping sum of RMB 250, 000 ( SGD 50,000).

The model-singer explained that he felt that taking part in charity activities would make his mum happy.

Having lost his mum to cancer in 2003, the young lad had been so devastated that he vowed never to celebrate Mother's Day.

"Mummy is the only god in my heart," he was quoted as saying.
