BEIJING: Taiwan singer Rene Liu announced Tuesday on her official website that she has gotten married.
"Yes, I am married. Received a lot of well-wishes. Thank you everyone for your concern," said Liu in a message on her website.The 41-year-old singer, who had repeatedly expressed that she hoped to get married soon in earlier media interviews, has finally found Mr. Right.
Her management agency confirmed the news soon after and issued a statement to give more details about Liu's marriage.
Mr. Zhong is Mr. Right
According to the statement, Liu and her husband, a Beijing resident identified only as "Mr. Zhong", registered their marriage in the Chinese capital on Monday.
Zhong is the same age as Liu and works in the finance industry.
The statement also confirmed that Liu will continue developing her music career even after her marriage.
Liu's management agency has since urged her fans and the media to "give them some space to enjoy the normal life of a married couple".
Congratulatory messages to Liu from her celebrity friends came thick and fast soon after Liu's announcement.
"One day, even little girls will grow up. Milk Tea (Liu's nickname), I wish you happiness," said Mayday front man A Shin in a micro blog post on Tuesday.
