The Asian superstar’s grandmother suffered a fall over the weekend
He may have always kept up with a cool façade, but Taiwanese singer Jay Chou showed his weaker side when his 87-year-old grandmother suffered an accidental fall two days ago.
According to the Taiwanese media, the elder woman was boarding a bus when the accident happened. Jay's grandmother was sent to a hospital, which was in the neighbourhood of Jay's uncle's home, so that it was more convenient to take care of her.
When Jay and his mother arrived at the hospital, they were told that no rooms were available.
An eyewitness expressed that Jay was so worried that he began to tear up and even pleaded with the nurse twice.
"I'm sorry. Could you please help us arrange for a room, please?" Jay said.
His grandmother was admitted into the hospital later.
The singer was surprised to know that he was recognised, even though he had a mask on.
Jay's close relationship with his grandmother was well-known. He once wrote a song titled 'Grandmother' and she even starred in the music video in 2004. Last year, the pair also filmed a commercial for a charity together.
Jay's worry for his grandmother touched netizens, who called him a "real superstar" and emphasised that "filial piety must be promoted".
