SEOUL: Korean superstar Rain's management agency has confirmed Thursday that he will enlist in October to serve his national service obligations, reported Korean media.
South Korean men are required by law to serve for 21 months in the armed forces and must enlist before they turn 30.
Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji Hoon, had previously deferred his enlistment twice.
"Rain will enlist in the military this October. We plan to hold a press conference before he enlists," said a spokesperson for Rain's management agency.
According to the spokesperson, the 28-year-old actor-singer will speak on his enlistment and announce when his final broadcast appearance will be on September 24, during the press conference for his concert in Seoul.
Rain started his showbiz career as a backup dancer before shooting to fame after starring in the hit drama "Full House" opposite popular Korean actress Song Hye Gyo.
