SEOUL: K-pop boy band Super Junior's leader Leeteuk revealed on a Korean variety show recently that he almost got thrown out by SM Entertainment, for confessing his feelings to label mate Dana of the girl group CSJH (aka The Grace), reported Korean media.
"She had such a kind heart and I sincerely liked her. Dana was the first person I liked after joining the company", said Leeteuk, who promptly expressed his feelings for her.
"The next day, I went to the office and heard that Dana had a boyfriend. I thought that was me, but it was a complete misunderstanding," Leeteuk said, explaining that he originally believed confessing his feelings to Dana meant that they were officially a couple.
At that time, he had just joined the company while Dana was preparing for her debut in an idol group.
The management was not impressed by his actions and threatened to throw him out of the company.
Leeteuk ended up having to write a five-page apology letter, and promise to channel his energy into his idol training, before being allowed to stay on with SM Entertainment and later debut as the leader of Super Junior.
Incidentally, Super Junior went on to enjoy widespread popularity after the release of their hit song "Sorry, Sorry".
