Despite the number of celebrities switching to different networks, Toni Gonzaga has chosen to remain a Kapamilya. She has renewed her contract with ABS-CBN for another three years.
In attendance were ABS-CBN executives Charo Santos-Concio, Cory Vidanes, Linggit Tan, Louie Andrada and Toni’s mother and manager Pinty Gonzaga.
Daily visibility
Televiewers see Toni everyday because of “Happy Yipee Yehey,” “Pinoy Big Brother,” “ASAP Rocks” and “The Buzz.” Aside from hosting, Toni has done TV dramas, movies, albums and concerts for ABS-CBN.
“I’m very thankful sa tiwala nila sa akin. Sa akin naman as long as they believe in my service, I’m always very much willing na pagbutihin ang kung ano mang project,” she said.
Toni has been a Kapamilya for seven years now after she left GMA 7.
She added that ABS-CBN makes her feel at home.
“Ever since naman I made a decision na maging Kapamilya ako, I always feel in my heart na this is where I really feel at home,” Toni said.
Her contract renewal with ABS belied reports that Toni is joining her sister Alex Gonzaga in TV5.
“Andun na yung kapatid ko eh. Bahala na sya doon, bahala na ako dito,” Toni explained.
The TV host adds that her new contract includes acting in new TV series.
“I think it’s (TV series) part of the contract, sa three years na pinirmahan ko. Biglang dumating yung noontime and hindi naming inasahan na mag-o-overlap. So hopefully when PBB finishes, baka yun,” Toni said.
Leading man
Who does she want to be her leading man?
“Si Piolo (Pascual). Parang dream na lang yata yun kasi hindi kami matuloy-tuloy. Matutuloy naman yata yung project namin next year. Nakapag-usap na rin kami and ng Star Cinema. So hopefully given the right time and project,” Toni replied.
Speaking of leading men, Toni was also asked if she’s willing to do a project with Robin Padilla. Toni and Robin were supposed to do a movie together last year.
“Like what I always say, I’m not closing any doors. Hindi ako nagsasalita ng tapos. I’m always open to work with anybody,” Toni said.
She added that there are still many things she wants to do, such as producing her own concerts and albums. Toni successfully mounted her tenth anniversary concert last September, so she wants to produce her own show again.
“Yung concert ko sa Araneta, I was part of the whole process. Na-enjoy ko sya. It was hard work but when you finish a project like that, you feel so fulfilled and accomplished as an artist and a producer,” Toni declared.
What’s her Christmas wish?
“Strength, courage and wisdom to be able to face another year of challenge in this industry. Material things, wala naman, sagot na yun ng ABS-CBN,” Toni answered in jest.
