TAIPEI: Taiwan superstar Jay Chou revealed Tuesday that he had recently set up his own karaoke outlet called True Love Fantasy in Xian, China, reported Taiwan media.
The karaoke outlet, which is scheduled to open on Monday next week, has rooms named after Chou's hit songs like "Cyclone" and "Chrysanthemum Terrace".
Chou's karaoke outlet in China also incorporates a lot of his personal style into its interior design.
Citing a source who claimed to be very close with the singer, Taiwan media said that Chou had invested some 30 million yuan (S$6.1 million) in the karaoke outlet, and aims to open a chain of such establishments in China, before getting the karaoke outlet chain publicly listed in about five years time.
Chou is not only one of Asia's most prolific singer-songwriters, but also one of the region's most enterprising – the singer is involved in numerous business ventures and opened the magic-themed restaurant "Deja Vu" as well as launched his own brand of pianos last year.
However, Chou had consistently expressed that his music career remains his primary focus.
