Invited to throw the ceremonial first pitch at a professional baseball game in Korea last Friday, Jung adopted the perfect pitching pose before throwing the ball.
Unfortunately for Jung, her opening pitch was far from perfect.
She hurled the ball into the ground right in front of her, drawing laughter from the audience.
Jung cringed with embarrassment and quickly left after taking a bow.
Video clips of the incident had begun making its rounds on various Korean websites and even wound up being played on ESPN.
ESPN sports show host Tony Kornheiser described Jung's pitch as "quite possibly the worst ceremonial pitch we have ever seen… great windup, but no delivery" during the popular sports programme "Pardon the Interruption" on Monday.
