PennYo Goes Jay-capella

Introducing the new face of Chinese music on Youtube, University of Pennsylvenia's premier Chinese a capella group PennYo proudly presents their new song from their third album "Extra Spicy".

Being a group in America singing Chinese songs, they have managed to gain attention. The group's name was derived from the Chinese word 朋友 (peng you) which means "friend".

When I first heard the song, it was like listening to Glee because of the "Doo doo.." part in the intro and I was amazed though there are points in the song where it turns out to sound classical. However, that is not bad after all. But I wish I heard more upbeat parts and more modern songs.

What I love about this is the transition from slow to rock and to rap. I just love it especially the part where someone seems to be howling. Too bad, they are not that popular in the industry because of the lack of exposure. But I believe, they will go far.

And just like every other comments, I want the music video!!!

My Rating: 8/10
