Taiwanese singer-actor Show Luo who starred in the movie also saw a sharp jump in his endorsement fees since starring in Stephen Chow’s latest film Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons which raked in NT$5.77 billion (close to S$240 million) in box office sales in China.
Show’s comedic role in the movie earned the likes of Chinese advertisers, resulting in a rise in his endorsement fees – from NT$28.62 million (S$1.21 million) to NT$33.4 million (S$1.41 million).
According to media reports, Show recently turned down invites to participate in three Chinese movies and four TV dramas due to his packed schedule - he has six commercial shoots and 10 concerts scheduled between April to September. His earnings are estimated to total NT$150 million (S$6.34 million).
