Newly married Ella Chen celebrates her birthday

Congratulatory messages pour in from her loved ones, including her husband and celebrity friends


At the stroke of midnight, numerous birthday wishes for 31-year-old Ella Chen poured in on her micro-blog.

Her husband, Alvin Lai, was among the first to post on his micro-blog. Attaching a picture of the couple looking blissfully at each other, the happy pair looked right at home at a beach resort with Ella donning a maxi-dress with a flower tucked behind her ear and Alvin in beach shorts and a fedora.

He expressed simply, "Happy birthday, my wife, love u always."

Among the celebrity well-wishers, Singaporean singer JJ Lin specially sang a birthday song dedicated to the birthday girl and Christine Fan penned "happy birthday my dear ~ We really miss you and your happy, sensible, positive self ~ May all your dreams come true."
